Difference between sulphuric acid paper and sulfur-free paper

1. Difference in composition and treatment process
● Sulphuric acid paper
The composition of sulphuric acid paper is mainly made of wood pulp and other plant fibers.
In the papermaking process, sulphuric acid paper does not apply glue or filler, but is directly soaked in 72% concentrated sulfuric acid for a few seconds, after which it is washed with water and treated with glycerin, and finally dried to form a film-type substance.

● Sulfur-free paper
Sulfur-free paper is made from wood pulp or other renewable cellulosic materials.
Made from wood pulp or other cellulosic materials, no sulfur-containing or sulfide-containing agents are added during the production process, and no special chemical processes such as sulfuric acid treatment are carried out.

2. Difference in appearance and texture
The color of sulfuric acid paper usually shows a whiter color, with translucent texture, hard texture and film type.
The color of sulfur-free paper is usually a natural milky white or slightly yellow. Sulfur-free paper may have a softer or more moderate texture than sulphuric acid paper, depending on the manufacturing method and application.

3. Differences in Characteristics
Sulphated paper has high transparency, flexibility and strong resistance to oil and water penetration; it has good water resistance, sunlight resistance and high temperature resistance, and can withstand certain high temperatures without being easily deformed or damaged.
Sulfur-free paper has outstanding chemical stability, will not release sulfide, can prevent sulfide reaction with metals, etc.; insulation properties, moisture-proof performance is better, part of the sulfur-free paper after special treatment of moisture-proof better.

4. Uses of sulphuric acid paper and sulfur free paper
Sulfuric acid paper is widely used in a variety of manual drawing and design work, as well as engineering electrostatic copying, laser printing, art printing, archival records and other fields. At the same time, it is also suitable for solid-liquid separation in filtration experiments, wrapping chemical reagents, absorbing solutions and other uses.

For example, it is used in hardware electroplating factories to package items and play the role of protection, isolation and protection.
